Hello and happy September. I am so happy to have your children in my class and am looking forward to an exciting year getting to know you and your child. Here are a few helpful reminders to make a smooth transition for the next few weeks. It may seem overwhelming for you and your child right now but soon routine will set in.
1) AGENDAS are an essential part of our communication this year. They are purchased at school for $5. CASH only please. We will be using these daily and starting this week.
2) SCHOOL FORMS were sent home on the first day of school. Please review all and fill in the appropriate locations. They are due back by Monday, September 9.
3) My parent newsletter was sent home on the first day of school too, please read and keep as a reference. It explains a lot of expectations. I will not be sending home a monthly calendar. You will be receiving newsletters on our programming monthly and at the beginning of every unit we do in all subject areas.
4) You will be receiving a parent questionnaire later this week and our daily timetable. Please fill out and send back to school the week of September 9.
5) If your child takes the bus, they will be receiving a bus tag that will be put on their backpack. All grade ones who take the bus will be escorted daily by the Grade 8's to their bus at the end of the day.
6) If your child is being picked up by you or another caregiver, please be at the Primary Doors by 3:40pm daily. If your child is not picked up by 3:55 pm they will be escorted to the office for pick up.
7) Our school day starts promptly at 9:10am and ends at 3:40pm.
8) If you have a change in routine, please do not hesitate to inform me. You can reach me via email
judith.petramala@yrdsb.ca or by phone 905 841-6225 ext 214 OR write in your child's agenda which we will be writing in daily as a means of communication. Please purchase one promptly so we can begin our year together as effective communicators! This blog will be updated at the end of each week.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or ask. Looking forward to being partners in your child's education this year.
