Our last week of Grade One Fun!

A big thank you to all who came out today to have fun with us at the SplashPad.  Your generosity with the treats was very much appreciated by all.  We had a lot of fun making memories with our friends!

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  We have no air conditioning in our school.  We do have fans, yet it does get hot!  Hats are recommended too.

Please note that Thursday, June 26, is our last day of school.  Dismissal is at 12:10 pm, and buses will depart then too.

Here are some reminders of our upcoming week.
1) Report cards will be distributed to your child's GAPPS account on Thursday, June 26.
2) The assessment folder can be kept at home.
3) Any work/folders coming home this week can be kept at home.
4) I will be sending home their indoor shoes and any indoor clothes that are still at school.
5) Please keep up with their reading/writing and math skills over the summer.  Below are some good websites to review some skills and drills too.  Keeping up with our strategies over the summer will make for a smooth transition in grade 2.

Have them write in a home journal.  Recount of their weekend, favourite activity, holiday, and place to play.  We learned to THINK IT, SAY IT, WRITE IT, and re-read to make sense.  We need to double-check our work with a writer's checklist too.

Thank you for being partners in your child's grade one year.  I have enjoyed every minute with them!  I will always look back fondly on our time together.  I wish them much love and success in their school journey.  My classroom door will always be open to them.  Wishing you all a happy and safe summer!
