Hello Grade One Families:
Welcome to Term 2. This week you will be receiving your child's assessment folder. Please make note of their expectations for their Reading and Writing Goals for Term 2. Later this month, you will receive their Term 1 Report card. We are learning to take risks and work to our full potential at all times. Our character trait for this month is Empathy. We will be learning all about Empathy. We will care and show respect to others even if no one is watching.
Here are some reminders for our upcoming week.
1) Monday is Day 3 of our cycle
2) Friday is Day 2 and it will be Library Day. Keep on Reading and logging their reading as well on our monthly reading log.
3) Gym is Day 3 and Day 4 of our cycle
4) Our MWW words for Week # 12 are: sight words and 'ock' family words
which she do how sock rock block clock
Our MWW worksheet is due back by Friday every week when given out.
5) Our Poetry Folder went home. We are to read Grounhog Day with our best fluency and expression.
We will be learning about Black History Month and will have a read aloud on Monday from students in Ms. Kolade's grade 7 class.
