Our week for October 19-23, 2026

Our school picture day is on Wednesday, October 21!
The retake day is on Monday, November 16.

Here are some reminders for our upcoming week.
1) Monday is Day 4 of our cycle, and it's Library Day too.

2) We went home with our poetry folder on Friday. We are to read the poem called My School Pledge and sign our name that we have read it. The folder is due back on Monday. This is homework, and I will be marking it too for completion and handing it in on time too. We have read this poem together all week and are building our fluency and intonation. Read our Friday Letter too. We are learning to write a Recount about our week.  Please return on Monday as well.
3) Reading logs can be handed in this week too! Don't forget to read and log the Poetry reading too!

We call it MWW (Making Words Work)
4) We will be starting our MWW words this week too. Look for the yellow duotang. There will be a worksheet that is affiliated with our words. This worksheet is due back by Friday each week. We will be having a dictation on Friday as well. We work with the words every day in class. Review nightly will build confidence and accuracy too.
* Please note that there are no MWW words on short weeks (those with a PA day)
Group A- Lesson #35 (Short A and 🩷 (Heart words)

Decodable Text: Bag of Hats and Caps

5) We will be coming home with our Blue Home Reading Folder duotang. This folder is to be kept at home, and we will fill it with our Decodable Texts that are affiliated with our MWW words. We will have the same text at school too. We will be reading it daily as well at school.  Re-reading seen texts builds fluency and comprehension too.  Look for the Decodable Text when we get new MWW words when it's an MWW week. 😊
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or ask.
Have a wonderful weekend with your children.
