Our week for November 27- December 1

 Hello Grade One Families:

We had a great week of learning.  Our Assessment Folders went home.  Please look at all the amazing work we have done!  Please return the folder on Monday.  We also went home with a Skip Counting Package too.  Please keep at home and help support your child with their skip counting journey.

Here are some reminders for our upcoming week.

1) Tuck Shop on Fridays at morning recess.  We have various snacks available for sale for $1 or $2 each.

2) Food Drive will be ongoing from now until the break.  This coming week will be canned foods.  

3) Our MWW words for Lesson # 43 are:

Our sentences to read and know are:

1. The bin is so full. 2. I will go to the big mall.

Our worksheet will be due back by Friday.

4) Monday is Day 1 of our cycle.

5) Library is on Thursday Day 4.

6) Reading Logs are due back if completed :)

Please have your child dress appropriately for the weather.  We are outside weather permitting for 2 recesses.  Please have extra mitts in their bags just in case we get our pair wet at first recess.

Our week for November 20-24

 Hello Grade One Families:

Here are some reminders for our upcoming week.

1) Monday is Day 1 of our cycle.

2) Library Book exchange will begin again on Thursday Day 4 of our cycle.

3) Our MWW words for Lesson # 42 are:  off bell still mess grass jazz your want

Our MWW worksheet is due back by Friday.

Reading 3-4 times throughout the week will help support their fluency and expression.  Also, their ability to decode words and use strategies that have been taught at school.

The site is free and it offers a range of levels for decoding.

Our week for November 13-16

 Hello Grade One Families:

We will not have any MWW words this week as it's a short week.  😀  There will be no Decodable Sheet coming home either.  Please review all the stories they have in their folders or check out the Decodable Website too.

We have a PA Day on Friday.  Interviews will be held during the evening of Nov.16 and the am of Nov.17.  Sign up is on EDSBY.  If a time is not available to you, please email me or write in your child's agenda and we can come up with a mutual time that works for both of us.  I am available on weekday mornings from 8:45 am- 9 am and afternoons from 3:45-4 pm daily.  

Here are some reminders for our upcoming week.

1) Monday is Day 2 of our cycle.

2) There is no Library Book exchange this week.  The Scholastic Book Fair is here all week.  Our buying time is Monday November 13th from 10:30am-10:50am 

3) Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately to be outside weather permitting.  We have entered hats and mitts season.  Extra pairs come in handy when they get wet at first recess.  Please keep an extra pair in their bags.  

4) We went home with our Poetry Folders.  We are to read the poem Little Poppy with our best phrasing and expression.  There is a worksheet that is to be filled out to on what Peace means to us.  It is due back on Monday.

Our week for Nov.6-10

 Hello Families:

This week we will be honoring and learning about Remembrance Day.  We will be learning a poem called Little Poppy.  Lest we forget.

Please change your clocks back this weekend! 
Here are some reminders for our upcoming week.

1) Monday is Day 2 of our cycle.
2) We will not be having Library book exchange this week or next week due to the Scholastic Book Fair.  We will be having a viewing this week and next Monday will be our buying day.  
Viewing of Book Fair: Nov 9
Book Fair Buying: Nov.13 from 10:30 am -10:50 am
Scholastic Book Fair is from November 13-Nov.17 in the Library
3) Photo Retake Day is November 7.
4) Progress Reports will be distributed on Nov.9 via your child's gapps account.
5) Interviews are on Nov.16 pm and Nov.17 am. Sign up is through EDSBY.  If a time slot does not work for you, please email me and we can set up a collaborative time.  I am available weekday mornings from 8:45-9:00 am daily.  After school from 3:45-4pm.  
6) Our MWW words for Lesson #41 are Short Vowel Review and Heart word review

Please note there will be no MWW words on short weeks.  Those are weeks with a PA Day or Holiday.
